Wondrous Love
This piece is based on the hymn tune WONDROUS LOVE, first printed (as far as I can tell) in the collection Southern Harmony in 1835, tune attributed to James Christopher. I used the 1835 version as a general outline with my own heavy modifications. The current version is a fantasia and choral arrangement thereof, but I have included the SATB choral arragement as well.
Good King Wenceslas
This piece has been through many versions and performances over the years. The original concept was a "mini opera" that could be performed easily by most choirs. The current version is for soloists, SATB choir, string section and French horn section.
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
This was part of a commission for the 2016 St. Timothy Catholic Church Choir Christmas Concert. It is a swing style take on the Christmas carol God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen. The actual concert recording is still being mixed, but I will post the live clip of this tune when it becomes available.
Silent Night (Gruber vs. Brahms)
This was part of a commission for the 2016 St. Timothy Catholic Church Choir Christmas Concert. It takes Gruber's Silent Night melody and blends Brahm's Lullaby melody together. I was inspired by my brother's family and thought of the lyrics to Silent Night; where the shepherds and angels are showing up to Christ's birth. Then Mary and Joseph trying to get the baby Jesus back to sleep. I also put in an annoying coo-coo bird. As with the last post, the live track is still being mixed, but will appear when it's cooked.
Organ Prelude no. 2
I cannot find my first organ prelude. I began writing this one (no. 2) in a minimalist style circa 2011.
Agnus Dei
This is an Agnus Dei (circa 2008) based on a Gregorian chant with a 2008 performance by the St. Timothy Catholic Church Adult Choir in West Los Angeles, CA.
